About

dHealth

Science and healthcare have come far, but the digital infrastructure behind it has not evolved to keep up the pace with scientific breakthroughs and new methodologies. dHealth is here to lay the foundation of a new type of infrastructure that will supercharge both scientists’ research efforts and the service of healthcare providers.

dHealth will also incentivize individuals to adopt a healthier lifestyle by, for example—assisting them to quit smoking or lose weight, with the help of a positive feedback loop based on provision of dHealth’s DHP tokens—for successfully completing health-related achievements.

All this will be achieved by utilizing a fusion of two different blockchain technologies—NEM’s Symbol blockchain architecture and Cardano. This fusion is realized in the form of a standalone dHealth blockchain network that will be connected to the Cardano blockchain.

The main tool that the dHealth Foundation will use—aside from its blockchain technology—is its Centiva App that is used in most of the projects that already are, or will be, rolled out by the dHealth Foundation.

Some use cases of the app are: rare disease patient registry, collection of population health data, rewarding individuals for sharing their data, treatment monitoring & generating real world data, case-specific consent provision to use existing data and compensation for said data usage, treatment adherence and prevention programs, and tracking.

The Supernodes are the foundation of the dHealth ecosystem—as the block finalization is fully in the “hands” of the Supernodes. They allow the dHeath’s ecosystem to be super-efficient and they also allow ease of implementation of new APIs, or in other words—they allow ease of implementation of new plugins that users of the ecosystem can use.

Super-efficiency is also achieved by dispersing different types of processing tasks to different types of nodes. There are three types of nodes that work in tandem to achieve the dHealth’s network functionality. These three types of nodes are Harvesting nodes, Validator nodes and Voting nodes. There is however, a subtype of a node that is in fact a combination of these three types of nodes. This subtype is—the Supernode. Supernodes operate as Validator nodes, but they can also at the same time perform the function of Harvesting nodes and Voting nodes.

Decentralization of the dHealth’s advanced blockchain system is based on staking as well as on the cap of the maximum amount of tokens that can be staked to a single Supernode. The network provides generous rewards to stakers which equal to 85 % of block rewards—whilst exactly half of the total supply is allocated for block rewards! These rewards will be issued over a course of 12 years—after which staking rewards and node operator rewards will depend entirely on transaction fees.

The dHealth Network is open to anybody who wants to run a Node. That means that the community can create validator nodes which expand the capability of the dHealth network. Starting and operating a Validator node does not require a minimum balance—unlike the minimum requirement for operating a Supernode—which is a minimum balance of 500,000 DHP.

dHealth Foundation has reserved 20% of the total token supply, which equates to 400 million DHP—for the Innovation fund. The innovation fund will also receive 5 % of the staking rewards, which means the total allocation for the fund is 450 million DHP!

The dHealth Foundation will initiate Innovation Hubs around the world that will be responsible for the evaluation and approval of funding of the projects in their geographical region. Projects applying will have to have utilization of the dHealth network in the agenda—in order to access the funding from the Innovation fund.

The dHealth project has already come far—as it is already a partner in four very important and groundbreaking projects.
