Providing a fair way for the blockchain community to create an Incentivised Cardano Testnet.
About
We have a rare opportunity to improve the engagement of our two new Testnets; Preview and PreProd. With the Vasil hardfork, Cardano received the two new Testnet environments for experimentation, development and testing. The legacy Testnet was used sporadically and primarily by developers.
TestnetCoins introduces new mainnet tokens that will act as rewards for community Testers and SPOs who use the Testnets. These new reward tokens will be given for "Proof of Participation" to create an enhanced incentive for the two new Testnets. Because tADA on the Testnets have no value in ADA, these new TestnetCoin mainnet reward tokens will create real value and incentive.
If we do this correctly, we can create a mini version of mainnet that is more valued by the Cardano community. For Example: Testing protocol parameter changes on Testnet may be possible if we can get real human behavior that mirrors mainnet that does have monetary value. This is the goal of TestnetCoins.
